Sri Srinivasan has been appointed principal deputy solicitor general at the Justice Department. Srinivasan was a partner at O’Melveny & Myers. He has served as assistant to the solicitor general at the Justice Department under President George W. Bush. He also worked as a law clerk for Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
Neal Katyal has joined the litigation, arbitration and employment practice at law and lobbying firm Hogan Lovells as a partner. Katyal was acting solicitor general of the United States. He has worked as a law professor at Georgetown University Law Center and was director of the university’s Center on National Security and the Law. He also has served as a national security adviser in the Justice Department under President Bill Clinton.
Matthew Solomson has been hired as counsel in the government contracts practice at law and lobbying firm Sidley Austin. Solomson is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law. He has worked as a trial attorney in the Commercial Litigation Branch at the Justice Department under President Obama and under George W. Bush. He has also worked as an associate at law and lobbying firm Arnold & Porter.
Whitney Frost has been hired as vice president of lobbying and consulting firm J. A. Green & Co. Frost was a special projects coordinator for Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, D-Mo. She has also worked as deputy chief of staff and as an administrative assistant for Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo.
David L. Holt has been promoted to associate in the patent group at Fish & Richardson. Holt was a technology specialist. He has worked as a patent examiner at the Patent and Trademark office under George W. Bush. He also has worked as a software engineer for Northrop Grumman Corp.
Stephen E. Schatz has been hired as senior director of media relations at the National Retail Federation. Schatz is director of media relations at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. He has worked as deputy press secretary for the Office of National Drug Control Policy under George W. Bush. He also has worked as press secretary and as a legislative assistant for Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind.
Ryan Donovan has been promoted to senior vice president of legislative affairs at the Credit Union National Association. Donovan was vice president of legislative affairs at the trade group. He has worked as director of federal government affairs at the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues. He also has worked as chief of staff and as legislative director for Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif.
J. Robert Carr has been appointed chief global communications and marketing officer at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Carr was executive director of the American Bar Association. Eisele was director of financial communications at General Electric Co. She has worked as director of finance communications, media relations and executive communications at The Boeing Co. She also has worked as director of corporate communications at Spacehab Inc., an aerospace contractor.
